The McDowell Hospital offers a full-time Pain Management Clinic.  It is operated by Dr. MacNichol, our anesthesiologist, and a full staff of  ACLS-Certified registered nurses, who provide care for patients with acute and chronic pain issues.  Our clinic offers many advanced procedures in pain care, including Radiofrequency Ablation. 

A physician's referral is required.  To request a referral sheet, the physician's call-number is:

PATIENT INSTRUCTIONS

For Patients who have had a pain management procedure, please follow these general guidelines:

• At discharge, patients are instructed to rest for the remainder of the day.
• Patients may find it useful to have a responsible adult with them.
• Patients are instructed to resume activity the following day, at the same activity level prior to the procedure.
• Patients are encouraged to stay hydrated.
• Patients are not to drive themselves anywhere until the day after their procedure; please have arrangements with another driver if necessary.
• Remember to take any medications prescribed by your physician, and to report any concerns to your physician. 
• As always, the Emergency Room is available for any emergent needs.
