Donations strengthen programs that benefit you, your family and members of our community. All donations are carefully managed in accordance with your wishes to ensure that the impact of every dollar is maximized. Donations will not support operating expenses of the hospital.

Planned Giving

In addition to monetary gifts, there are other ways of planned giving to support your local Hospital, while meeting your family's financial needs.  In some cases you can make a gift that benefits the hospital now and your loved ones later, or you can make a gift that helps your loved ones now and the Hospital later. Gifts of homes and vacation properties can also be made and used to fund a trust that accomplishes the philanthropic purpose you choose, while also benefitting you and your loved ones now or later.  Please be sure to discuss your objectives with a Foundation staff member and your financial planner.

Charitable Lead Trust: This may be structured to provide McDowell Hospital with a stream of current income and pass assets to your family at a significantly reduced estate and gift tax cost.

Life Income Giving: Charitable gifts can be structured to provide donors or their designated beneficiaries with income for life.

Creative Giving: This is a creative and legal way to give outright gifts to the Hospital. For example, gifts of appreciated securities, real estate, or other property may provide additional financial and tax benefits for the donor.

Testamentary Gifts: Donors may choose to make a gift to McDowell Hospital through their will, revocable living trust, retirement plan, or life insurance beneficiary designation.
