Window Box Gift Shop
The McDowell Hospital Auxiliary
All volunteers are invited to join The McDowell Hospital Auxiliary. Governed by an independent volunteer Board of Directors, the Auxiliary, with over 175 members, supports the hospital mission through community ambassadorship, event participation, fund raising and the sponsorship of programs beneficial to our County.
Thousands of dollars are awarded each year to area students enrolled in programs targeting healthcare careers.
Auxilians take pride in their sponsorship of quality health education programming for school children, such as The Health Adventure’s theatrical productions promoting exercise and nutrition, making friends, and abstinence from alcohol and drug use.
Lifeline
The Auxiliary offers the Lifeline emergency response system enabling the elderly and the infirmed to enjoy a more independent lifestyle.
Window Box Gift Shop
The Auxiliary manages the Window Box Gift Shop in the main lobby of the hospital. An unusual selection of gift and home décor items make this little shop a favorite for hospital visitors and community shoppers alike.
